While potentially lethal pranks are off limits, anything else is fair game: items are moved or lost temporarily, the target is surrounded by jeering spirits in the Umbra or momentarily loses his way in familiar territory. Known as the “Kick Me Gift” by particularly irreverent New Moons, this places a spiritual beacon on the unwitting target, attracting the local troublemaking spirits.

Every success stalls the target for one turn, preventing the target from communicating verbally (although other forms of communications, such as sign language or writing, are still possible. System: The player rolls Wits + Subterfuge (difficulty is the target’s Wits + 4 for a packmate reduce the difficulty by one). Because of the bond between packmates, it is easier to use this Gift within the pack - after all, it’s for the greater good, right? A mockingbird-spirit teaches this Gift. Beside keeping friends from saying stupid things, the Gift can also be used against insulting rivals or the fomori calling in reinforcements. In such situations, this Gift acts as a temporary stopgap it makes the target fumble for words, lose his train of thought or become momentarily distracted. Maybe a brash Ahroun is about to say something unfortunate to a bigger Ahroun, or perhaps a talkative cub is about to reveal too much about what she knows. Source: Core book revised / 20th Anniversary Vampires register as Wyrm-tainted, save those with Humanity Traits of 7 or higher. Sensing a single fomor in the next room would be difficulty 6, while detecting the stench of a Bane that was in the room an hour ago would be difficulty 8. The difficulty depends on the concentration and strength of the Wyrm’s influence. System: The player rolls Perception + Occult. This power requires active concentration.

Werewolves may sense an innocent person who happens to work in a Wyrm-controlled factory or who has eated tainted food. Garou should remember that the Wyrm’s taint can cling to relatively blameless souls. This Gift involves a mystical sense, not a visual or olfactory image, although werewolves using the Gift sometimes say things like, “This place stinks of the Wyrm” (with a few more colorful adjectives). The werewolf can sense manifestations of the Wyrm in the nearby area.
